Drivers begin work early in the morning to avoid pedestrian and vehicular traffic and the summer time heat. Garbage cans must be put out the night before. If not, you may get missed and have to wait till the next pickup day to receive service.
1. EXTRA GARBAGE CAN BE PICKED UP BUT WILL BE CHARGED FOR! Garbage is considered to be extra if it is bagged or boxed and setting beside the container on pickup day. An extra may also be charged if the container is over-full so that the lid will not close. Pre-authorization for extras is advisable and when setting out an extra for pickup, set the extra bag, box or bundle 2 to 3 feet from the container.
2. A cart can be over-loaded, weight wise, as well. The company reserves the right to reject pick up of any cart upon reasonable inspection which appears to be overloaded If a cart is found to be overloaded, the container may be left until unloaded to within the limit. Maximum weight for a 95 gallon cart is 200 lbs. Maximum weight for 1 to 8 yard containers is 350 pounds per cubic yard.
3. Please place the cart out to the street the night before your collection day .The driver may move your container if there is a safer or more suitable location. If the driver moves your cart, please put it there for collection day.
OTHER TIPS AND REMINDERS
-Please Make sure the lid on cans and dumpsters can be closed.
-Do not move dumpster or adjust dumpster after drop-off by the Town. It is placed so that it can be easily picked up by CDSI.
· BAG YOUR GARBAGE! CDSI REQUIRES THAT ALL GARBAGE BE BAGGED AND TIED Bagging your garbage will help contain the garbage and insure that it gets into the truck. Loose garbage can fly away in the wind or shake out as the container is being dumped. Bagging can also alleviate the problem of garbage sticking to the bottom or sides of the container.
· MAINTENANCE! C.D.S.I. will maintain the container for normal wear & tear, and for damage done to the container by a C.D.S.I. It is your responsibility to occasionally clean your container.
· HOLIDAYS! C.D.S.I. makes normal collections on all legal Holidays, except for Christmas & New Years Days. Extra trucks are put to work, so your pickup might even be a little earlier than normal, so set your container out the night before.
