In 2000, lifetime Odessa resident Mike Hardung along with the help of former US Representative from WA State George R. Nethercutt commissioned a memorial tank to be placed at the Odessa Cemetery. The tank honors the 12 Odessa residents who lost their lives in the line of duty, all occurring during WWII. The Tank is a M60A3 used in Operation Desert Storm during the first Gulf War.
Flags are placed for each veteran. A ceremony for all is conducted each year.
