Enjoy a peaceful drive to Odessa, which is located at the junction of SR 21 and SR 28 or fly your private plane and land at our municipal airport, which has a 3000 ft runway. We are also located on the transcontinental route of the BNSF railway, with unit train facilities utilized for the transportation of local wheat production.
Over the last few years many improvements have been realized; a new sewer system, a downtown renovation project, the realignment of State Route 21, Dobson Bridge replacement, two new water system reservoirs and a growing industrial park. Upcoming in our future is an enhanced public airport and a productive biodiesel plant.
Whether you enjoy a nine-hole round of golf with your RV parked at the RV hookup site, swimming at the aquatic recreation center, resting under the shade trees at our beautiful Reiman Park while the barbeque is warming, camping at the Tourist Park, hiking or horseback riding on the local BLM Pacific Lake Trail, Odessa is the place to be.
The Odessa School System, which is well supported by the community, provides a well-rounded and successful academic environment for the students, with numerous extracurricular activities offered. Students excel in regional and state competitions.
Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center provides residents and visitors with premium healthcare. The Center includes a clinic, hospital, assisted living apartments, a long-term care facility, and a helicopter pad. A recent infrastructure constructional upgrade to the hospital has been recently completed.
Throughout the year, you can enjoy various town activities. The third weekend of September the annual Deutschesfest brings activities and entertainment for all ages, bringing in visitors from near and far. The Christmas Fest on the first Wednesday of December attracts locals and visitors for entertainment along with arts and crafts. Springs arrival hosts two annual events, the Desert 100, an off-road motorcycle race, the second weekend of April, centered around family participation, just west of Odessa. The annual Spring Fling held during the last weekend in April offers a weekend of garage sales, a car show and a quilt show, which has won national recognition. Odessa’s Healthcare Foundation holds an annual wine tasting and auction the first Friday in May, with proceeds being used for the support of the Healthcare Center.
